The Desert Sands SEPAC is a parent-led committee that works closely in collaboration with DSUSD administration, educators, staff and community members to promote awareness, community outreach and education as it relates to disability and special education. SEPAC members use their experiences, unique perspectives, and expertise to promote positive outcomes for all students.

We’re looking for members who are:

  • Parents, family, and guardians of students receiving special education services
  • DSUSD educators, administrators, and staff
  • Community members
If you're passionate about making a difference and want to be part of our
Committee, we welcome you with open arms. Let's work together to create an
inclusive and supportive environment for all students.

Join Us as a SEPAC Liaison and Make a Difference!

A SEPAC Liaison is a role that allows you to connect with and support the SEPAC community in a meaningful way. While liaisons are not SEPAC Board members, you will play a crucial role in fostering communication and collaboration between SEPAC and our school communities.

School Liaison responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between the school and SEPAC.

  • Connect with the school’s parent organizations and share SEPAC information.

  • Communicate SEPAC information to the school site staff and administration.

  • Build awareness at the school of SEPAC and SEPAC events.

  • Support the SEPAC Programs by volunteering for at least one SEPAC event.

  • Attend SEPAC meetings and provide status updates and feedback to the SEPAC Board.

Becoming a SEPAC Liaison is a fantastic way to get involved, build connections, and make a positive impact on the lives of students with disabilities and their families. If you are passionate about supporting our community and making a difference, we would love to have you join us!

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, email [email protected]. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.

Thank you for considering this important and fulfilling role. Liaisons will be appointed by the SEPAC Board. We look forward to welcoming you to the SEPAC Liaison team!
