Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee

"The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee is responsible for seeing that bond funds are used in accordance with their intended purpose. Proposition 39 prohibits the use of bond funds for administration, imposes accountability requirements on school districts to ensure that bond funds are spent on approved projects, and requires that school districts provide voters with a list of construction projects."


REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE
The Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee met on January 7, 2020, the next meeting will be in late 2020.


2018-19 COC Annual Report

The 2018/2019 Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee Annual Report is now available. The report includes the Measure KK Phase 2 modernization projects: Kennedy Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, and Indio Middle School, as well as information on upcoming projects at Ford Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, and Monroe Elementary School.


MEASURE K

Measure K is a $450 million general obligation bond approved by the voters in November 2001 with an 80.7% approval.

Indio High School Reconstruction Project completed in the 1st quarter of 2018 and is the last project funded with the Measure K funds.

MEASURE KK

On November 5, 2014, voters residing within the Desert Sands Unified School District approved Measure KK, a bond measure that will generate $225 million to renovate/update our schools, improving safety/security, enhancing energy-efficiency, equipping classrooms for 21st century teaching and learning, and strengthening pathways for student success in college and career.
