Desert Sands's District Notifications

District Notifications

SchoolMessenger flyerYou can choose your most convenient option to receive notifications: phone call, email, text message, or mobile app!  We utilize the SchoolMessenger notification system district-wide to deliver emergency calls and important information (i.e. student attendance alerts, school/district announcements) to each parent/guardian. SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.  Each method provides the option to opt out of non-emergency messages at any time.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS:

EACH PARENT/GUARDIAN CAN CONTROL THEIR MESSAGE PREFERENCES!

(For example: EMERGENCY CALLS ON YOUR CELL PHONE, ATTENDANCE ALERTS BY TEXT, SCHOOL EVENTS ON YOUR EMAIL)

Opt Out for Phone Calls: You can opt out of non-emergency calls at any time.  All voice calls begin with instructions on how to use your phone keypad to stop receiving calls at that phone number (press 5).

Opt Out/In for Text Messages: School & district announcements are also sent via SMS text messages. You can opt out at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with "Stop." Parents/guardians can opt in by sending a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to our district's short code number, 67587.

Use the free SchoolMessenger App to manage all your message preferences!
In just minutes, you can decide which phone numbers or email you would like to have school/district communications sent to, or enable push notifications from the SchoolMessenger App if desired.  Go to www.schoolmessenger.com/start or download App (available from Apple or Google) to create your account.  SchoolMessenger requires a current guardian email address on file for each guardian in ParentVUE.
